El inevitable envejecimiento del espacio acompañado de quien lo habita, nos revela una disminución paulatina del funcionamiento del mismo. La propuesta de remodelación para una pareja retirada responde al uso del espacio y su forma de vida.
Un departamento ubicado en la colonia San Rafael se dota de iluminación y ventilación a través de un núcleo de luz central. Una de las primeras intenciones del proyecto fue percibir un espacio más amplio y aprovechar cada rincón del departamento para así darle mayor importancia a la incidencia de luz a lo largo del día, así como a las proyecciones de sombra en cada uno de los muros. El color blanco en los muros permitiría entender los baños de luz interior, no obstante, la esencia del proyecto responde a las verticalidades, que a su vez configuran los distintos espacios que componen el departamento.
Se logra un juego de perspectivas que responden a dichas verticalidades y que contribuyen a la propagación de luz interior al intervenir con dos espejos de piso a techo para perder la dimensión del espacio, así como para reflejar las proyecciones de sombra y luminosidad entre muros. Los pequeños gestos de intervención dieron respuesta al aprovechamiento de dicha iluminación que colorea el pasar de los días para la noble pareja.

The inevitable aging of space, accompanied by its inhabitants, reveals a gradual decline in its functionality. The remodeling proposal for a retired couple addresses the use of space and their way of life. An apartment located in the San Rafael neighborhood is provided with lighting and ventilation through a central core of light.
One of the project’s initial intentions was to perceive a more spacious area and make use of every corner of the apartment, thus giving greater importance to the incidence of light throughout the day, as well as the projections of shadows on each of the walls.
